Melissa is from a small but awesome village in rural New Brunswick and is a graduate of the Dalhousie University School of Occupational Therapy, 1999. She moved to Grande Prairie, Alberta and started working in Home Care shortly after graduating. After several years in Home Care she moved into private practice where she mainly focused on pediatrics, working with children of all ages, though she has always continued to support adults when applicable. Melissa has an area of expertise in sensory processing, self-regulation and picky eating/problem feeding, home equipment needs, self-care challenges and sleep. She is trained in iLS, has extensive learning in the SOS feeding program and has taken a significant number of sensory processing courses and seminars. Melissa works with children of all ages and needs. She most recently completed the Pediatric Sleep Consultant course through the International Maternity and Parenting Institute. Melissa provides services to families and caregivers at home, school and the community. She brings a holistic, professional and unique perspective to the above areas with a wealth of knowledge in many different areas. Melissa strives to work with families and team members in a flexible manner. She works closely with Physical Therapy, Speech and Language Pathology, Psychology, Behaviour Consultants, Doctors and Dieticians. When Melissa is not working she can be found spending time with her husband and two children - usually at a hockey rink or other sporting venue.
